Bringing Anime Culture to Life Since 1977
Banpresto has been a pioneering force in anime collectibles and arcade entertainment for nearly five decades. Founded in 1977 and officially established as Banpresto in 1989, we’ve dedicated ourselves to creating accessible, high-quality figures that connect fans worldwide with their beloved characters. As a proud subsidiary of Bandai Spirits under Bandai Namco Holdings, we continue our legacy of transforming popular anime and gaming franchises into tangible treasures that collectors cherish.
Our Heritage: From Arcades to Collections
Our journey began as Hoei International, focused on arcade gaming innovation. Through the decades, we evolved and were reborn as Banpresto in 1989, quickly becoming synonymous with prize figures—those coveted collectibles distributed through Japan’s iconic UFO Catcher machines. What started in arcade entertainment has blossomed into a global phenomenon, making anime culture accessible to enthusiasts everywhere, from Tokyo to New York, London to Sydney.
Our Mission: Quality Meets Accessibility
At Banpresto, we believe every fan deserves to own a piece of their favorite stories. We specialize in creating entry-level collectibles without ever compromising on craftsmanship or authenticity. Our philosophy is simple: premium quality shouldn’t require a premium price tag. This commitment has made us one of the most trusted names in anime merchandise.
What Makes Banpresto Special
Officially Licensed Excellence
Every Banpresto figure is officially licensed by major anime and gaming franchises. We work directly with creators and studios to ensure authentic character representations that honor the original designs. When you purchase a Banpresto product, you’re getting genuine merchandise approved by the franchises you love.
Diverse Product Lines
From the adorable Q Posket series with its signature big-headed chibi style, to the detailed Grandista collection featuring life-like proportions, and the dynamic King of Artist line showcasing dramatic poses—we offer something for every collector’s taste. Our Creator×Creator series brings unique artistic interpretations, while our plush collections provide cuddly companions for fans of all ages.
Legendary Franchises
We cover the anime world’s most beloved series: Dragon Ball Z, One Piece, Naruto, My Hero Academia, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, Sailor Moon, Pokémon, Jujutsu Kaisen, and countless more. Whether you’re passionate about classic shonen legends or the latest trending anime, Banpresto has you covered.
Our Craftsmanship
Premium Materials
Our figures are crafted primarily from PVC (polyvinyl chloride) and ABS plastic—industry-standard materials chosen for their perfect balance of detail, durability, and affordability. PVC allows us to achieve intricate sculpting and precise painting for character details, while ABS provides structural integrity for bases and joints. Some special releases incorporate fabric accessories and metal support components for enhanced stability.
Meticulous Attention to Detail
Every Banpresto figure undergoes rigorous quality control. We’re known for vibrant, accurate colors; flawless paint applications; authentic costume textures; and dynamic poses that capture iconic anime moments. From facial expressions to weapon accessories, from flowing hair to intricate costume details—nothing escapes our attention.
Museum-Quality at Accessible Prices
While our figures are designed as prize merchandise and retail collectibles, we maintain standards that rival premium scale figures. Collectors consistently praise how Banpresto delivers exceptional value, offering quality that far exceeds our price point.
Our Global Presence
Headquartered in Tokyo at Shinagawa Seaside West Tower, Banpresto operates worldwide through authorized retailers and online platforms. We’re committed to making authentic anime merchandise available to fans across every continent, ensuring fast shipping and secure packaging that protects your collectibles during transit.
